Kodachrome valediction

“Travel with me, one year later”: the Kodachrome final run

This is a retrospective on the final twelve days of my shooting with Kodachrome. Each image was posted on Flickr one year to the day after it was made.

The journey brought me to several cities as December 2010 wound down. These were handpicked from about fifteen rolls shot during the final dozen days and mentioned on Twitter each respective day in December 2011 as a valediction for the film for which I was writing my masters thesis.

This very last journey got underway over Lake Ontario early on December 18th, continuing through Cleveland, New Orleans, Houston, Austin, the Texas Hill Country and, finally, back to Toronto. My final photo, not shown in this tour, was also the very last time a processed Kodachrome image of Toronto was produced by anyone.
