Four Rooms did something like your idea, but carried it off poorly and perhaps telegraphed too much of where the film was going (a complaint i have heard of many films, in all fairness). i think it’s a good idea that could be done better, and for all i know, has been done before and i’ve just never seen it. ‘s suggestion of said trilogy also applies, and either way i strongly recommend seeing that trilogy because it’s just good stuff.
