"waterproof" disposable camera, my ass...

Kodak waterproof disposable cameras are shit. Always were, always will be. They have very shallow depth restrictions and do happen to take in water on a rather frequent basis. (They're also a BIG pain in the ass for the developer, as taking the plastic casing off can cause personal injury. i've gotten stabbed by them before. Trust me, it's not pretty.)

On that note, i think you should process it anyway, just to see if you get anything. Do let the developer know that you found it, er, it fell on the beach and that there's a possibility that the film is wet. (They need to know this so they can handle it individually. Wet film can ruin an entire batch of film, and most processors will splice several hundred rolls together on one big spool.)

As far as cheap goes, you're probably looking at about five bucks to process it, if you go to a grocery store. (If you go to a drug store and can do it NOT one hour, you can probably get 3" prints for a dollar or so less.) i tended to take my film to Bartell when i quite working at the Kodak lab, but now that they've switched processors you won't get better quality from them than you would from Albertson's or Safeway. (Not that you're all that concerned about quality anyway.)

i have a free one hour processing coupon for a Wal-Mart store. If you have a Wal-Mart near you i'd be willing to give it to you. (If i see you, i'd be interested in taking the camera apart, just to see if i can still do it. :) )

(Bored yet?)
