well, look at Talk Talk’s “It’s My Life”: the UK and the US mixes are radically different. the same goes for “Living in Another World”. back then, there was so much activity that even remixes were highly provincial to the local remixing engineers trying to get their own street cred.

FYI: i love the US “It’s My Life” 12″. i love both “Living in Another World” versions for utterly different reasons.

Thompson Twins seemed to arrange their UK vs. US remixes differently quite a bit. I never understood that. Shouldn’t the “extended mix” be the “extended mix” on all releases? Very confusing for a collector. They must’ve borrowed some ideas from Trevor Horn…

see, that’s something i’ve been trying to locate for, like, ever. i only have the US 12″ version, which is arranged differently. but i have the UK “(Don’t Mess With) Doctor Dream” one, which isn’t so bad.

Sigh. You have some cool stuff. All of the Thompson Twins mixes sound better on vinyl. I was listening to a remix of “Lay Your Hands On Me” (UK), and it was quite heavenly.
