Be more normal...

What kind of weird-o music do you listen to? No offense, but I haven't heard of any of the bands you mentioned. Propaganda? Isn't that what Hitler did? OMD? Who names their band with three initials? Trevor Horn? He doesn't even sound American.

You need to start listening to some normal music. My top faves:

-Justin Timberlake: A genius. Pure and simple.
-GWAR: No one even comes close to their raw emotion.
-50 Cent: He's keepin' it real and stickin' it to the bizotches. Yo.
-Christina Aguilera: She's talented, hot, and a fantastic musician. I think she even wrote one of her songs.
-Colour Me Badd: "I Wanna Sex You Up" is a total classic.
-Meatloaf: Six words, "I would do anything for love". 'Nuff said.

No offense or anything, but you should try some of the above bands, 'cause everyone agrees that they rock. Sometimes I think you're just too alternative.

jim steinman is a garish holdover from the 1970s in my book. he might have punctured some wounds in the fabric of 1980s pop ephemera, but that doesn't make him a part of the underground dance, po-mo or new wave movement in the slightest, which was a primarily European-driven movement, so.

What, no unit on "Jim Steinman: Cautionary Tale or Muscial Genius?" I'd think that would be almost necessary with his span of this era, from "Bat Out of Hell" to "Total Eclipse..." to "I Would Do..." and that Celine abortion of a song. You may not like it, but you could prevent bombast from becoming de rigeur, too. ;)
