I think its fascinating how sentimental people get over printers. I used to sell large format printers for this company that was run by a total mac fanatic, and he would get very excited about his laserwriter NTX, and in turn got me very excited about the HP 750 Inkjet printers, because .. well.. that's what I was selling and its kinda hard to sell something you dont believe in. For me atleast.
We talked a lot of shit about the Tektronix wax printers... a few years later I talked to him, apparently he got into a big argument with the HP dealer and is now selling Tektronix. Claims it's the best thing since sliced bread. Then again, he always could sell anything.

I still cant pass an HP DesignJet 750 without atleast scrolling through the menus

It's all just a bunch of machines to me. Machines that are broken half the time. I could do more there but they won't let me. I talked to the guy that got the job that I originally intervewed for (tech lead) and he didn't even have one fifth of the experience that I have. It was only after meeting him that I started to become somewhat bitter about working there. The only reason I can think of that they gave a job like that to him instead of me is that they figured out my gender status and that's just a little too radical for them.
