I always looked at a wiki as a connected set of webpages, one where anyone can update or change anything, including the way the pages are organized. It's a collaborative information resource that gets naturally extended, sort of a communal website.

It's easier to learn than HTML, and nearly anyone can be taught how to add information to a wiki.

given that i have to design and build the other portion of my business web site (the media design arm explained further by clicking the "accozzaglia icon" on the web site i just launched today) and attend to job-searching galore this weekend (something i haven't really stopped doing, but the last couple of weeks have neglected this), i'm afraid that i'm going to have to pass on avfest this year. i'd like to consider this in 2004, when i have some time in advance to brainstorm and devote attention to this project. also, it be more conducive for us to put our collective heads together, ideally in person, passing back and forth real-time ideas at a table, on linked computers in the same room or whatnot.

believe me. given that most of my creative work has all been about making money for almost my entire professional life (since, oh, 1995), it'd be a badly-needed and refreshing change to devote my creative energies towards something for the very sake of art or unfettered visual expression.

right. i got that part by seeing the “wiki” name on that page, but i’d also seen it recently on the Lavendergreens.org web site, and i was perplexed. even after going to Google and pulling up the “wiki” help pages at http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?NewUserPages, i’m still perplexed as to wiki’s very purpose and function.

maybe it’s cos i have low IQ.
