When this album was new, I bought the tape. On a 12-hours-each-way roadtrip from CT to NC, I listened to this album the whole way there. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

it's because Raoul and the Kings of Spain is made by Roland Orzabal, posing as Tears for Fears.

actually, the CD copy i own of The Seeds of Love comes from when i was sixteen and just barely started on my music library. i remember watching the video to "Sowing the Seeds of Love" on MTV during the late Monday night of September 25, 1989 (it was the first time i'd heard it), and thinking, "oh my god. this is gorgeous. this is brilliant. this is so flooring me." i made a beeline to the record store the weekend after the album was issued.

anyway, even if Curt was just a secondary player post-1992, it's his chemistry with Roland's which made TFF what they were (and what they hopefully will be once the new joint project comes to fruition). and fused together, they were a powerful chemical reaction like Annie and Dave. or Stuart, Andy and Gordon.

apart, they're inert ingredients.

About a year ago or so, I was in a supermarket that was playing that song throughout the store. I deliberately dilly-dallied so that I could hear it all the way through before checking out.

And I have the song on CD at home.

Semi-coincidentally, I have "Raoul and the Kings of Spain" in my car at the moment. I've always wondered why that CD didn't sell more. It's quite good.
