“Sweet Shaggy Music”
A Fakesoundchecks radio fiction
I was going through my dad’s reel-to-reels when he was studying physics at Simon Fraser University. I found this one from a reel dated “2-7-71 for our camper”, so this was just after Canada Day and right when the Stampeders were getting big out west.
My older sister was born in April 1972, so this was probably when my parents went up to Prince George by way of Williams Lake, B.C., and had the Winnebago break down on the highway right near Woodpecker and the provincial park. Every year, we used to watch the Kodachrome slides from their camping trip until I was about 8 (when they divorced).
