can i just say one thing about DoS?

it sucks. especially when it happens to your own virtual hosting provider, the one you just signed onto last month for a year-long contract.

what does DoS, or Denial of Service, mean to someone like me? it means that i can’t check my mail. and for some reason, it also stymies my email client, Eudora, from even functioning — something that i’ve never seen before in three years of using that Qualcomm product.

it also means that if a certain potential employer (no names, but it rhymes with “squint”) wants to pre-examine my creds and look at my book, then i’m très SOL on a stick. maybe they can sell that at the MN State Fair, but i can’t use it to get me work.

so, i get to pretend that email is a technology which doesn’t yet exist. well, that is, at least for earlier today and tonight.

grrr.
