Poem: Untitled

Awake; I’m alive
But only in the flesh
The mind is a kaleidoscope
Ever-changing at the slightest
Turn of situation.
Mine own is mine
I am grateful for that liberty.
Sadly, others are dominated
By the droning and deceiving
Call of the preacher
Who robs and lies
Through tithes and keen deception.
He preaches to make the believer
Focus upon him.
When he laughs, his audience laughs.
He now has them; he is omnipotent.
They are so captivated that they trust him.
He may now implant the seeds of
His own opinion
Into each of their minds.
That’s a shame.
Violation of of the mind is evil and wrong.
The conscious belongs to the self
Never to be altered by a foreign mind.
I am thankful for my own freedom
Able to change under my control.
My mind lives . . .
Awake! I’m alive!
