ruminations from 1997.
so.
blakeh came through yesterday and found this keen utility that unlocks old cc:Mail archives. this is is good thing. i’ve had mail and other contents locked away on a CD-R archive since i worked for the Evil Bad company in 1997.
well, here’s the moment of truth.
it worked.
what did i unearth in the old content?
1. my writing skills were horrible.
2. reading mail from people with whom i’ve long since lost contact leaves behind a curious aftertaste. Jessica Posner (p.k.a. “chatchka”) was specifically who i had in mind.
3. i didn’t learn anything new that could have been used in my case (that stuff would probably have been in the lost Hotmail collection).
4. some Cardigans video clips that i’d all but completely forgotten.
