  Yes. That was just El DeBarge, though. In fact, who would call their kid “The”? (actually, his name was “Eldra”. *SNORK*) “Who’s Johnny” was big in the very early summer of 1986. It peaked at #3.
  But for DM, DeBarge (a family of a group, not unlike the The Jets, who, in my opinion, weren’t as saccharine) released the highly annoying song — even so on the week it was released — “Rhythm Of The Night”. And I’d be damned if the song didn’t stay on the chart for over FIVE MONTHS, peaking around the time of my birthday, also at #3. Ewwww.
  April 1985. I got a year older that year. I remember playing a lot of Ultima II (or rather, ][) that weekend. Same weekend Murray Head’s “One Night In Bangkok” (from “Chess”) was huge.
