so.

it only took seven months, but i have another four-day assignment, doing — oddly enough — nearly the same kind of unusual-for-me work for the same talent agency. this time, though, instead of art buyer, i’ll be doing print media buying for a different client.

not fun work, and not work in which i’m da best, but it’s enough to ease my mind off of things like paying rent on my storage space for August.

meanwhile, i sent three very serious cover letters in the last day, only to find out that i blew it big-time on one of them and failed to edit an “an” back to an “a” in the first graf, following a pre-sent edit i was making to the draft letter.

time to flush that place (in NYC, no less) down the drain, whee. the other two places were in Chicago, one which really tweaked me in good ways: www.jacksongray.com.

i cheerfully noted today to my old friend in the outer-ring Twin Cities back in Minnesota that my W-2 statements for the last 20 consecutive months currently totals about $900. this, just after she told me that she just scored a 54K a year job doing her ASP programming thing for a well-known national sales portal company, leaving behind another national brand name where she was pulling in 52K a year.

and here she was, talking about how she and her husband, who is trying to beat down cancer in his late twenties right now, are looking at buying a $400K new home with a three-car garage and a five-burner stove, amongst other bells and whistles i could live without. never mind that they bought a 1995-built townhome in 2001, which ain’t shabby in the least for where they love living.

they think they’ll need the space and that now is the time to buy, because rates are the lowest since the 1940s, but they really don’t need 4BDR space, full unfinished basement, that superfluous three-bay car park and room for a swimming pool. in Minnesota.

but i don’t think they’ll need that much space anytime soon. not for a long time, at least.

sorry. errant mental purge happening there. go back to your thing. ciao.
