summer chimes.
because i purchased the soundtrack to The Thomas Crown Affair on summer solstice this past June, while I was in NYC, the score will indelibly remind me of being in the hazy, hot and bright city, visiting my friend from high skool days.
tonight, we checked out the film from the local library. i’d never seen it before. that was three hours ago.
it’s a masterpiece. wow.
the film is set mostly in Boston, but there are a handful of scene references to NYC. plus, the heist happens on 9th June 1967, while the remainder of the story unfurls during that summer.
i had no idea that i was hearing the vestiges of another summer when i bought the soundtrack, but i guess that’s also why i fell so hard for it when i bought it back in June. it’s a perfect June album in my book now.
