svairini will appreciate this.
i screwed up my left shoulder badly, but i’m not exacty sure just how. what sucks is that doing much of anything — typing, lifting my arm, sitting up — hurts. it’s a throbby kind of soreness, which sucks, because given that i write with my left hand (though i’ve by no means a left-sided body), this is not a good thing.
while yesterday the pain was an annoyance, today the flaring is a lot worse. one interesting thing to point out is that i am “double-jointed” in both of my shoulders. i can naturally do things that i’ve seen no one else do. sometimes, without realising it, i can sleep in sometimes bizarrely contorted resting positions. i’m wondering if i extended something too far — like lying my head on my shoulder or upper arm, using a pillow as a buffer, where most others might use their lower arm for the same.
fyi: on a pain scale of 1 to 10, ten being the worst and one being no discomfort, it was a four yesterday and a two the day previous.
today, it’s either a six or seven, depending on the circumstances.
anyway, the pain sucks. i’m contemplating a vicodin from sparkle_vixen‘s stash. i see this as a last resort, cos i don’t like feeling all lopey-dopey, especially when i’m working on some high-cognitive web site crap.
come to think of it, i never like feeling lopey-dopey.
anyhow.
if the pain doesn’t improve, then svairini and i are going to have to find new ways to embrace each other the next time we meet at door #6.
wherever that’ll be. maybe 2015 at this rate.
