It was super windy/rainy/cold/dusty, if it makes you feel any better. I seriously have a layer of grit on my face and I couldn’t feel my hands for like, a half hour:)

The weather was cold, windy, rainy–in short, it was absolutely crappy. I stayed long enough for the parade, saw a little of the pageant, but I was so cold and wet after that, that I retreated indoors pretty quickly.

I concur with previous comments. The parade seemed shorter than usual, waiting for it was pure torture, and the weather made even running into old friends seem miserable.
The one high point was a moving and somber moment in the parade when a bunch of grotesques marched in procession carrying effigies to values lost. The entire crowd where I was sitting fell silent. It was the most sincere and intense reaction I’ve ever seen in a parade.
